I don't think budget is the critical thing here. We have a case of someone
spending well over $1000 to get a clarinet repaired, and then having to
take it to ANOTHER repairman to have things fixed properly, even though
those problems were pointed out to the original repairman upon delivery,
but were ignored. Had the work been satisfactory, I'm sure the process
would have been considered WORTH the money, but if *I* had been treated
that way, the tech would for the rest of his life be farting in the key of Bb!
