I doubt that it will hurt Yamaha much, although it makes Leblanc look a bit
weaker by (size) comparison. It was nice, though, having two suppliers for
the same low brass instruments. If we got an order for a Yamaha, and
Yamaha was out of stock, we could order the same item from Bach, or vice
versa! We have only seen the first of the new Conn-Selmer baritones, and
our expert in that field (he plays in the Brass Band of Battle Creek)
was...unimpressed. It appeared to be a Conn with a few changes, none
especially good. Better news is that Artley clarinets will probably soon
be only a bad memory.
