The art of stenciling saxophones didn't die in the sixties. There's a lot
of Keilwerth saxophones being tooted with "H. Couf" engraved on the bell.

My personal alto is a "reverse stencil" - a Buffet "Expression" that I
believe was manufactured from the late '80s. It has the big bell and
adjustible palm keys of the Keilwerth, but a different "keyboard." My guess
is that either Buffet borrowed some of the tooling for it after they bought
Keilwerth and "final assembled" at the Buffet factory in France, or Buffet
just put their name on it. (It's stamped "Made in France" though. In
English. Go figure). In any event, it's a very nice piece, well worth what
I paid for it.

I think stencils are coming back. The array of saxophones in the Woodwind &
Brasswind catalog is bewildering. I suspect that there are more brands than
factories - like beer.
