Subj: [kl] Baxter-Northrup C Clarinet?

Hey all-

I'm going to be taking a look at a C clarinet that's stamped with the
Baxter-Northrup name, estimated to have been made some time in the
1950s. I've found that there's a Baxter-Northrup Music in Los Angeles
somewhere, that appears to be a very "old-school" store, and I'm
presuming right now that the horn was made by another manufacturer and
relabelled house-brand by that store some time in the not-so-distant
past.

Any pointers to whose horns this firm labelled as their own, or
pointers on identifying the actual maker of a horn like this? I'm fair
at identifying certain types of stencil-saxes, but never have run
across this phenomenon with a clarinet before.
