Erik, the unplated keys were referred to as German Silver. Over the years,
I've heard about 57 explanations of it's composition. I want to be clear
that the pre-75,xxx is an approximation. It's just like "flat vs.. round
spring" - we can point to a time when the "flat spring" STOPPED (entirely)
being used ... but prior to such time was hit & miss. No doubt that
silverplated special orders may have been available at , say, 68,000. best,
mark
