I had a boulder tossed in my path this week, as a notice for jury duty
arrived. I am scheduled to serve over the summer months, which would
put a
terrible crimp in my plans. I am supposed to be away for most of the
summer. I am hoping to get a wavier so I don't lose all the money
spent on
plane tickets and housing reservations (and all the music I have
bought to
perform in the different places I am supposed to be playing in).

Nancy, just tell them that you are self-employed and can't serve as
you are on tour. Also put on the form that you are pro death penalty
even for a simple parking violation, and that you believe the
policeman's word implicitly, no matter what the evidence nor counter
testimony may be ;)
