Steve,

I have had a pair of Howarths for about 8 years now (before there were S2 and S3 models!). I have
found them to be excellent with a full rich sound. The orignally supplied mouthpieces (which I
believe are not now available) were also excellent, but I now have a Vandoren 5JB mouthpiece which
gives the (controllable) big sound I need for the playing I do (mostly in concert/military band).
The keywork has only once needed very minor adjustment in the 8 years of use: so is reliable and
comfortable. I know some other players who are also pleased with their instruments. I am very
happy with my purchase and would recommend Howarths to any serious player.
