I would accept "allowing the child to PROVE what his level is." My wife
had a student who was an "overachiever" -- performed much better in school
that his IQ, etc., would suggest he should. Unfortunately, because he was
achieving at that higher level, he did not QUALIFY for special ed
help! Talk about irony!
