The fact is that the world is comprised of people who are religious as well as
people who are not religious. And those who are religious do not necessarily
subscribe to your religion; it is a *very* personal matter. As such, when you
quote a religious document like the Bible, it gives the *appearance*, at least
to some, that you are trying to force your religion on others, even if that is
not your intent.
Taking you at your word that it is not your intent to force your religion on
others, quoting the Bible is pointless: those who believe as you do are already
familiar with the Bible, and those who do not believe won't get anything out of
it. Using scripture as a means of making your point to someone who clearly
doesn't want scripture quoted at him only serves to reinforce the impression
(right or wrong) that you are trying to preach.
Of course this is an unmoderated list and you are free to post pretty much but
you want. I am merely making an observation.
