Gary,

"sad thing".....This is your opinion and you are welcome to express
yourself.

I didn't misunderstand your post.

You did present an argument. Via "I would urge the list manager to remove
Tony Pay from the list for the use
of profanity in his posts. I can handle off topic posts, conservatives,
Republicans, and resonite clarinets, but I am deeply disturbing at reading a
post and having to endure cursing. TV is bad enough with what they force
you to watch during commercials, but this list is no place for foulness."
and then tried to use that scripture, "Whose mouth is full of cursing and
bitterness, their feet are swift to shed blood, destruction and misery are
in their paths, and the path of peace they have not known. There is no fear
of God before their eyes." Romans 3:14-18"..... to validate your argument.

You misrepresent my argument by saying, "but no reputable scholar should
begin with the absurdity of treating any sacred text as an obscenity." I
didn't do that.

You have to have "faith" to buy into all of your arguments. I don't have
that kind of faith. I don't care about what the "scriptures" say, except
from a purely academic viewpoint. I'm sure that will make you sad as well.
I'm not interested in debating "the word of God" or being condemned by it
(through people). This includes you.

Proselytizing is proselytizing. You've got it down.

P.S. Let me offer an apology before the fact. Sorry. I guess in your
reference, "arguing about words to no profit, (2 Tim. 2:14)", is the clue
for me is to shut the 'f*&^ up......as you will continue your proselytizing
despite the fact that it offends me???? Not a very Christian attitude is it
Gary?

Which brings me to a story. Last week someone called our home and ask for
David X. David is the youth minister at the church my wife and daughters
attend. When I told the woman that she had the wrong phone number, she ask
me if I had the correct number. I told her that I didn't. She asked if I
could look it up for her. :-) I told her that I would have to do the exact
same thing that she would have to in order to find the number....use the
phone book and I suggested that she go to it. She responded by saying (in
very unkind terms), "that isn't very Christian of you". ;-) This attitude as
a result of my unwillingness to look up a phone number for a fine upstanding
"Christian". My wife and daughters laughed with me.
