Klarinet Archive - Posting 000973.txt from 2004/03

Gary,
You're apparently offended by everything. Lighten up and join the 21st
century. Just because Tony, in his anger at the general population for
the lack of clarinet-related posts, used a harsh adjective doesn't mean
you need to be so hard on him as to request his removal from the
listserv. This thing is for everybody- from amateurs to pros, and if
someone wants to express their justified anger at the lack of postings
with relevance to the topic on hand, let them.
Now Tony, please remember that the word you used is not formally
accepted in all areas, and please try to keep your verbal cool for those
of us who may be offended by one little word..
And while you're at it boys, check this out:

Try laughing for a change, that's what makes the world go round.
And now, I return you to your regularly scheduled clarinet programming.
French Cut reeds are the "generic" normal reeds everyone uses. The
german cut reeds are a little different-- they're slightly more narrow
than "regular" reeds. Check out the difference between Vandored
Black/White masters, and the regular blue box or V12's. The black/white
masters are german cut- Apparently the "German" clarinet mouthpiece has
a slightly narrower opening, to compensate for the narrower bore as
well. French bore (the one we americans usually play on) is wider too.
And no, I'm not saying the french are fat.
From your lovely peer-moderator,
Ginger

I would urge the list manager to remove Tony Pay from the list for the
use of profanity in his posts. I can handle off topic posts,
conservatives, Republicans, and resonite clarinets, but I am deeply
disturbing at reading a post and having to endure cursing. TV is bad
enough with what they force you to watch during commercials, but this
list is no place for foulness.
"Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness, their feet are swift to
shed blood, destruction and misery are in their paths, and the path of
peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Romans 3:14-18
If Tony's list of adjectives to describe the clarient is so short that
he must curse it, perhaps he should consider playing something else,
such as the radio.
