I think busking is not necessarily a good way to practice. It may =
increase
the dexterity of your fingering and improve your embouchure, but =
otherwise
you can find you are playing by rote, just churning stuff out. It is =
also
hard to just stop and take a break when you need to - so you tend to get
very over tired and everything goes a bit horrid - the sense of rhythm,
intonation, - whatever. It's also all too easy to forget that you are =
'on
the stage' - so whilst it might be a useful first step if you are =
nervous
about performance, it can have the opposite effect after a while and =
deaden
you to the theatre of the situation you are in. I'd say it's a pretty =
good
experience in rather small doses, but a very bad one in larger doses.

preparationfor concerts

Hello list,

I would like to start a discussion on the topic:

Practicing in front of an audience - busking - as a preparation for =
concerts

Because I think it is very good possibility for young stuents to become =
more
self reliant and they can learn to play with more self confidence (false
friend?) I'm intersted in Your opinions and looking forward to hear =
(read)
from You.
