Sounds like YOUR band program was very serious, at quite another level from
mine.

I have always maintained that band is just like a team sport and provides
nearly all of the same benefits -- "team music" if you will. But you don't
have to be athletically gifted or 6' 8" tall. And how many high school
football players do you know who are still playing the game 30 or 40 years
after graduation?
