I've never played the Francaix, though I'd like to get to it some day (to that
end, I'm enlisting the aid of others to put together a string quartet as an
on-going project to play music for clarinet and strings).

Rehearsal time will probably depend on the playing level of your string quartet
and whether they are familiar with the piece. I have no practical experience to
speak from, though at a guess, if I were to hire out local symphony musicians
for the string parts and give them some time to practice the music on their
own, it might take one, maybe two rehearsals to nail it down.

I'd defer to Tony Pay's response as being more qualified than anything I could
give you.

Regards,

Andy
