This is for those of you who believe the "specs" published in mouthpiece
comparisons etc.

I recently bought 5 Selmer C* bass clarinet mouthpieces. The Selmer website
says they come 1.80/27 (I have NO idea what the 27 means, can anybody
enlighten
me?)

Here are the measurements of the 5 mouthpieces:

Mouthpiece A

42/44
32/33
22/23+
16/16+
9/9+
1.84

Mouthpiece B

41/44
32/34
22/23
16/17+
9+/10
1.88

Mouthpiece C

42/42+
32/32
22/22
16/16
9+/9
1.86

Mouthpiece D

42/42
32/32
22/22
16/16
9+/10
1.88

Mouthpiece E

43/44
33/34
23/24
16/17
10/10
1.90

As you can plainly see, NONE of them are 1.80. Each has a very different
facing. When they are skewed, they are skewed in the Wrong direction (skews
are
usually to the left, not the right).

Luckily, all are salvageable with re-facing. Mouthpiece B was the biggest
mess. All have facing length too short for serious playing, in my humble
opinion.

None, were warped, or humped this time, which is unusual, but highly welcomed.
