And you know what? This makes a LOT of sense. Because, I HOPE no one
has all those notes right on the mark all the time. That would scare me
out of my wits.

That said, I find that, when I DO have a clarinet, (no hurry, and this
is NOT a hint - the best things DO take time! *G*), that that needle is
consistently in the same place for the same notes. C3, for instance, is
off by about the same amount, every time I play it, so is F1, G1 etc. I
am wondering something else: Do those of us who grow up playing piano
get used to hearing tempered tuning, as opposed to justified tuning?
(I'm getting in a lot deeper than I should - I don't know nearly enough
about this stuff. I DO know that I have found it easier to tune with
trumpets than some other clarinet players, much to my chagrin)
