The Winterthur mansucripts is for basset horn not basset clarinet. And
you don't have to convince me that it is almost certain that Mozart used
the basset notes. But neither you or I "KNOW" what he wrote.

You approach a slippery slope here. The moment you hypothesize what he
wrote to create an edition, you get your ideas mixed up with truth. You
could be right, and you could be wrong.

I don't know why we are arguing. I am simply stating a truth: WE DON'T
KNOW WHAT HE WROTE AT ALL EXCEPT AT A GROSS LEVEL. So stop interpreting
what I am saying as heresy. I add, that this very matter is the subject
of my novel, which I expect out by March of next year.
