Ah, I haven't heard these in awhile. "Lucas, Prince of Darkness."
Lucas is what makes the ignition systems on older British cars so
*U&*#$* reliable:-). Some of the French ones, too, I suspect: I used to
own a Renault 16 that I bought new in May 1970 and dumped joyfully for a
loss two years later in favor of a 1972 Dodge Dart, the greatest car
ever made. In the two years I owned the Renault it blew two ignition
systems. Two.

I wonder if Lucas is still in business. I wonder if they'd have the nerve.

We had guys here about two months ago doing electrical work on the
underground cabling at Sarnoff. The trucks were from a company called
Lucas Electric. I'M NOT KIDDING. The lights work anyway.
