Can I clarify what I meant about the Tosca clarinet. As I have already
said I realised that the clarinet didn't come in a new key, but rather
was
equipped with a new key, but rather wondered whether it was worth all
the effort or whether the extra key was more a gimmick than anything
else. The confusion that I suggested as a result of all this was that on
changing from a Tosca Bb or A to an Eb (or whatever) one would
effectively have a different set of fingerings for the lowest notes. I
can see that as a recipe for confusion for those who double regularly,
but not (obviously) for those who play nothing but Bb/A

I have to say that I almost never use the second Eb/Ab key on either my
basset horn or my bass clarinet as the key is not there on my regular Eb
(which I play more than anything) and equally is not present of my Bb/A

I apologise for not having properly proof read what I said!

Matthew
