In the Musica Rara edition of the Op. 274 that I have used there is a viola
part as an alternative for the horn. These markings in the clarinet part
might simply be cues from the horn/viola part. I don't have this available
to check, but here is the on-line listing from the music library I've
borrowed from:

Main Author: Reinecke, Carl, 1824-1910.
Title: Trios, piano, clarinet, horn, op. 274, Bb major
Trio in B flat, op. 274, for clarinet, horn (viola) & piano [by] Carl
Reinecke.
Imprint: London, Musica Rara [c1969]
Material Type: Music
Description: score (51 p.) and 3 parts. 30 cm.
Subject(s): Trios (Piano, clarinet, horn) Scores and parts.
Trios (Piano, clarinet, viola) Scores and parts.
Notes: M.R. 1209 Musica Rara
Viola part included.

I hope this might be the answer you are looking for.
