However, encouraging the minority of gay people to go ahead and act on
their natural instincts, instead of feeling obligated to keep up a straight
appearance by mating with the opposite sex, is an excellent strategy for a
planet that's seriously overcrowded after thousands of years of
heterosexual enthusiasm combined with life-prolonging medical advances.
Times change. Traditions evolve. The needs of the species change. Some
of my ancestors painted themselves blue and practiced human sacrifice.
Does that mean I should do it, too?
