Rupert,
Having arrived in Canada (Newfoundland) from South Africa, (we speak English
there!!!, UK English) I was faced with a blotto look on any face that heard
the word "trolley". Total blank, no recall. Where I live now, that word
"trolley" does not exist in any one's vocab. Its called a "cart".
Where I came from, we would "reverse" our cars, here its called "backing
up". So far, my teacher has been calling my clarinet a clarinet. I will ask
him tomorrow to spell it for me...

only nannie's and baby sitters.
