Makes much more sense now! Probably right - although with the number of
different ethnicities in certain parts of the country I think we may be
making a late surge as a melting pot!

You are right - this isn't a better/worse argument and we can certainly
be different without any need for one.

Matthew,

I was trying to say that the words you use have been used by the English
for a long time. The language in America comes from many sources (we
are a melting pot of cultures). So much of what is modern and new comes
from this side of the pond and the rest of the world uses the
terminology assigned to it as it was created here. But there would not
be an America as we know it today without the British. I'm not trying
to offend anyone, I'm only trying to show the historical path that the
development of our language on this side of the pond with citing a
zillion examples.
