Ah yes, now I remember. We do spell center as centre, but usually when
we are referring to a group of buildings. I guess you could say the
same for theater, but we do use theatre too. I think the big difference
is that in this country, we use both spellings but for different
reasons. You guys use a single spelling for everything. And I don't
think it is an issue of right and wrong necessarily, but that given the
nature of this country being a "new land" so to speak, so we are more
receptive to new ways and words. Think of all the things that are born
of American ingenuity. I'm not laying bragging rights here, it's just
that "need is the mother of invention" and this is a big country. You
live in a small country. The world has benefited greatly by American
"need". And if there had been no Britain, there wouldn't be the "needy"
America we know today. I could go on forever here, but I think you know
what I am getting at and won't take it to extremes.
