Dan,
That's a great theory about having all those notes to overblow with the basset clarinet. Unfortunately, at least on my basset clarinets, I can only use the Bb (overblown Eb) without too much contortions. The A is extremely sharp. The Ab and G would qualify for 1/4 tones. Still, it's fun to for instance begin the slow movement of the 1st Weber concerto with the overblown A and that way avoid the change of register. Are your overblown basset tones better in tune on your basset horn?
