Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved...I know, I know, I
hate cliché's too.

How I picked clarinet

We had the "famous" band assembly where the local music store try's to sell
all their old stock. All the parents were there and prospective students. A
short demonstration was conducted of each instrument. I heard the
clarinet....I need say no more I was in love and like Rebecca I soon got
married to a Conn Director. Parents were happy since it was cheap compared
to the other instruments. The band instructor was happy since everybody was
getting trumpets and Saxophones. and I was in love.
The marriage lasted all through highschool (1973). Then ended. Ya know how
it happens 1st USMC, Human wife, college, children. The USMC and college
passed quickly. Children are now semi-detached(college), still have the same
human wife.
I tried to rekindle my love affair with the Conn after 30 years, But
alas it was not to be so. The Conn made a valiant attempt but due to
cheapkeyitus soon broke a key. I am searching for a new mate and am in a
temporary affair with a Vito.We really don't get along very well so I guess
it more a relationship build on necessity. I can't even say that it is a
physical relationship It is no character, you might even say that it is
plastic.
I really envy Rebecca and her Alto.I would ask if the Alto had a sister
but, judging from Rebecca's age, I suppose the Alto's sister would be too
young. Is it proper it ask about the Alto's mother or is that tacky?????.
I will just keep looking. A couple good souls from the Klarinet list are
trying to act as match-makers and I commend their endeavors.
