Thanks Nancy for the information about the reeds and what needs to be done
to them.

I am sending them out to someone, who could really use them for his
students, as I will stay with the Mitchell Lurie reeds for now, as they play
perfect for me from the start.

My music teacher, Paul Eberly, in the 1960's and early 70's, at Dale Music
in Silver Spring, MD., was a wiz with reed rush and cutting reeds and I wish
I knew how he did it, as I have tried, and I probably don't have a clue to
what I am doing, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to adjust reeds,
for future reference, I would appreciate the knowledge. It can't hurt to
know.

I just wish the store I got these reeds from, which is L&L Woodwinds in
Gaithersburg was a little bit more honest about these reeds, since they are
in the woodwind business and should know their products.

Thanks, Nancy,

Mike Marmer
Germantown, MD

Hi Mike,

They just need to be adjusted a little. The right side is always thicker
than the left and they may need to be flattened out on the backside. Don't
know if you are interested in doing this (or if you even know how). It
isn't hard and maybe this is a way to practice.
