I`m probably one of the few who 'poke my nose' into other peoples businesses
in here without contributing too much any more - I`m sorry. I do have to
prioritise my time these days, not that I contributed much anyway.
I am intrigued tho` with governmental interferences into the way we live our
lives.
We have been around for 1,000,000 years, 40,000 of those as humans; and in
all that time, thru`out all the wonderful, and not so wonderful early
civilizations, we have never had same sex marriages. In human terms, the
word 'marriage' has meant *only* to betroth oneself to one`s opposite sex
partner in a religious and legal ceremony. This has been going on for nearly
40,000 years.
Same sex partners CANNOT therefore *marry* - but they can religiously, *but
not legally*, betroth themselves to each other, with their own kind of
'ceremony'. They may 'think' of this as a marriage, but it will not be, due
to the legal aspect.
A mere technicality I here you say - but we have to have this law. If this
present 'madness' were to go on and on and on and on, oh my goodness - in
another 40,000 years we`ll all be 'marrying` our pets. After all, bestiality
is with us now. Sorry to be blunt.
There is a limit to tolerance, and everyone should understand this. I`d back
Bush - if I could. With this kind of delicate subject, Goverment has to be
seen to be understanding the wishes of the majority. It may be a scam,
coming up soon to the US election, but Bush can`t just sit still until the
election is over. When it comes to taxes, government cracks the whip. When
it comes to human morality and equality, government has to be seen to be
following the majority cracking the whip!
Best Wishes to all old colleagues, Annie, Martin, Tony, Peter, Walter,
(can you write to me Walter please) Lelia, Nancy, Sue, Dan, Sean,
and Bill Wright - wherever he might be. And not forgetting
Anonymous! Also hello to knew ones.
Tony W.
