What he said. Ebay is a bit like the real world. Some stuff is
wonderful, some needs repair, some is garbage. Wanna buy a $35 Albert
System clarinet made in India? Sometimes things are TOO cheap.

As a GENERAL RULE, learn the name brands and assume basic quality:
Buffet and its student instruments, Selmer, Yamaha, Leblanc. You can
also get really fine instruments whose names are less well-known.
Someone on this list who repairs and deals in woodwinds comes across
brands you're not likely to have heard of, but they're the real thing
and probably will serve anyone well. Beyond that, read the copy
carefully. If it's Ebay, ask the seller questions. If you don't get a
response, or if the reply sounds evasive, then bail.
