I bought a Rossi clarinet about a year ago and am very pleased with it. I'm interested in having a cosmetic alteration made to it. The bell and the barrels have ridges on one end of them. I think the instrument would look even better and more strikingly unique if the ridges were not there, and the body appeared even more monolithic than it does now. Luis Rossi tells me that the ridges consist of a separate piece of wood that he glues on to the barrels and bell. He says that there would be no acoustical effect from removing them. Does anyone know who could undertake this task, with a goal of having the barrels and bell look as if the ridges were never there?
