According to the Hist./Dev. of Opera course I took a year or two ago,
the title of "Der Freischutz" is very commonly translated as The Magic
Bullet or The Enchanted Bullet, simply because audiences are likely to
respond to the purest translation with, "The what?!"

So sayeth the prof, anyhow. ^_^
