to turn pages. >>

But sometimes you need to put the piccolo in your lap to warm it up, or
you're too flat when you play it cold. I have to do this with flute, too. I am
playing "Once on This Island" right now, and the book has pic, flute, alto
flute, clarinet, and soprano sax. There's lots of alto flute stuff, and I find I'm
often sharp when I play it (I think that's an embouchure issue...not sure
yet), no matter how much I pull out. But the flute and pic get cold from sitting
so long, and the theater is always cold! I've also tried sticking the piccolo
under my armpit while playing clarinet or whatever, and that works too! ;-)

I, like Nancy and Sue, have a snap-on shelf that I got from Rico...it cost
$5.95, is plastic, and fits on almost any stand. It's perfect for the piccolo.

As for seeing black pegs in the dark, the tech crew let me use their glow
tape, and so everything gets wrapped in it, including the sax 'saddles'(?). It
charges up during the day, or in any light, and then glows in the dark.
