Okay... I played on a Portnoy for a while, I think it was either BP02
or 03, can't remember, it's been years ago. Most of the major brands
should work.

When choosing a mouthpiece, all the reed choice rules apply too...
I know that the reeds I use with one mpc are probably not going to be
quite the same with another. You may also be changing your embouchure
in some way in an unconscious attempt to adjust for some sort of pitch
or other change. Have you tried playing long tones with a tuner to see
if that could be the case? I'm just tossing these ideas out - I kind of
jumped into this thread apropos of nothing -
