I suppose someone should say this:

Equipment matters, but just to keep things in perspective --- equipment
doesn't account for everything about your sound. Tongue position,
embouchure, location of your lips/teeth on the reed, air velocity, shape
of your oral cavity, how you hold your throat, breath support, etc make
big differences also. Hence the adage that <Big-Name-Clarinetist>
sounds like him/herself no matter what setup he/she plays.
