In reply to the question about a more "focussed" sounding mouthpiece, I have had the best luck with the mouthpieces that are Zinner blanks. Such as the Richard Hawkins, Greg Smith and Eddie Daniels. You can read my thoughts at

Mostly I agree with Ginger, it's a matter of trying many varieties of set-ups until you find something that not only sounds the way you like but also feels good to play!
