Best wishes on you upcoming search. I was wisely advised by my instructor
at the time to try many and not to buy too quickly. It was a good idea too.
I gathered a good experience for how other instruments played compared to
the one I was using (A VERY stuffy school Buffet R-13). While I realized
that I wasn't enthralled by any of the wonderful instruments that I had
played, My teacher came across a wonderful instrument that surpassed my
expectations at the time - and I continue to grow with.
Take your time cause your gonna want to buy that first one or one of the
first group (at least I did) that you try.

Well there's .02. Now I can await the fallout....;)

Subject: [kl] can't wait

Can't wait till Sat. I get to try out some upper level Selmer Clarinets at
the local music store. My first time ever playing upper level clarinets.
Sad but true, 48 years old and never played anything but Students
clarinets(conn director, Vito). Except for a 5 minute "love affair" with a
Selmer Arty's at the very same store a year ago. And that time I had not
played in over 30 years, so my embrochure was weak to say the least.
Anyway, I promised myself that if I stuck with a year I would treat
myself to a "REAL" clarinet.
The hunt starts this Saturday. There is a Leblanc and Buffet dealer 2
hours away so maybe the following Sat?????
Then of course there is the CLARINET FEST in July only 1-1/2 hours away.
I feel like a school boy on his first date with the head cheerleader..
Can't wait.

thanks for listening.
