Hey Tim,

I bet you're going to fall in love with the Buffet R-13. It's a $2000
clarinet but SO worth it! :) I've had my baby for 5 years. I bought an
R-13 A clarinet to match it a couple years ago at the ICA convention
when they were in Stockholm. :) That was an awesome trip... I love that
clarinet, unfortunately I have no use for it now because USF stinks and
they won't let me play in their orchestra because they have enough
people... *sigh* I wish I had an opportunity to use it. I love it!
Anybody know of a community orchestra in the Indian River County area of
Florida that needs a clarinetist? I'll be moving over there in August
and will need some gigs during my internship...

Anyway, Where are you from? Check out Sam Ash Music too- I work at the
one here in Tampa. We sell Selmers, LeBlanc, and Buffet. If you're
interested in Selmers particularly I'd recommend a Series 9 if you can
get one, or a signet. I know that my store doesn't have any but its
possible one near you might. I don't think they make series 9's anymore,
but if you can find a good one on Ebay I can guarantee you'll like that
one too. Not as good as a Buffet but I like the action on it. Nice warm
sound too. Great for Jazz or classical playing.

Subject: [kl] can't wait

Can't wait till Sat. I get to try out some upper level Selmer
Clarinets at the local music store. My first time ever playing upper
level clarinets.
Sad but true, 48 years old and never played anything but Students
clarinets(conn director, Vito). Except for a 5 minute "love affair" with
a Selmer Arty's at the very same store a year ago. And that time I had
not played in over 30 years, so my embrochure was weak to say the least.
Anyway, I promised myself that if I stuck with a year I would treat
myself to a "REAL" clarinet.
The hunt starts this Saturday. There is a Leblanc and Buffet dealer
2 hours away so maybe the following Sat?????
Then of course there is the CLARINET FEST in July only 1-1/2 hours
away.
I feel like a school boy on his first date with the head
cheerleader..
Can't wait.

thanks for listening.
