Date: Tue, 17 Feb 2004 16:33:13 -0500

Friends,

After a postponement, our concert has been rescheduled. I hope you can make it

Monday, March 1, 2004 - 7:30PM
Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall
Tickets are $22, $12 for students and are available through Ticketmaster
and at the door.

>William O. Smith - Five Portraits (World Premiere)
>Paul Dresher - Channels Passing
>Meade Crane - 11 Pieces (World Premiere)
>John Adams - Road Movies
>John Luther Adams - Make Prayers to the Raven
>Antonio Carlos Jobim - One Note Samba (Arranged by Don Immel)

There will also be a pre-concert lecture by Gavin Borchert of the Seattle
Weekly, and then after the concert he will moderate a discussion with the
audience and composers Meade Crane and William O. Smith.

The first Music of Our Time series concert of the season includes a
performance by Quake comprised of Ella Marie Gray, violin; Walter Gray,
violoncello; Susan Telford, flute; Sean Osborn, clarinet; Don Immel,
trombone; Rob Tucker, percussion; and Meade Crane, piano. They will be
joined by special guest artists Russell Campbell, trumpet, and Rebecca
Henderson, oboe.

"The Adams Family" features the music of John Adams and some of his
contemporaries. Four of the other pieces all have some minimalist
inspiration, while William O. Smith's "Five Portraits" is a set of
interludes to be performed between the other pieces, and provides much
contrast with minimalism.

Cheers,

Sean
