Nancy,

Well of course we senior citizens get all the breaks. Old age and =
treachery
will beat youth and ardour any time. And a senior citizen with a basset =
horn
is armed and dangerous.

We have just started the Strauss Happy Workshop here in Santa Fe. =
Already we
have two basset horns (Forest Aten and me) working their mellifluous =
charms.
On Wednesday Dan joins us to play and lecture on the rare Mozart basset
horn/clarinet music, with recitals on Thursday evening and Friday =
afternoon,
and then we repeat in Las Vegas NV on Monday 23. Las Vegas will take an
economic hit, since clubs will empty as the dancers flock to sit at our
feet. The Governors of NM and NV have issued warnings and advised =
parents
within 100 miles of the epicenters to lock up their daughters.

In the adult version of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, the instrument was a
basset horn. And they didn't end up in the river.
