On this subject, but a little different from the other posts, I'm
wondering whether anyone has experience using contact mics with holes
drilled in their barrels?

I have been considering having a barrel drilled for this purpose, since it
would eliminate the problem of moving around when I play.

Now, generally, I use a SM58 with an acoustic guitar amp, which works
reasonably well on gigs, but it would be nice to not have anything
separate from the instrument itself.

Any experiences with this method? Sound quality issues? Other issues?
