I use dampits (humidity raising devices) in the case during winter =
months. I
also monitor the house humidity and have a room humidifier on when the
humidity is below 35% (in winters here in Maryland).

Wrapping a damp cloth around the bell's wood near the ring also seems to
help swell the wood enough to keep the ring tight for me.

Subject: [kl] Loose bell rings

As the winter drags on and indoor humidity levels continue to be so low,
just=20
about every clarinet I see has a loose ring at the bottom of the bell.

Does anybody out there have a good way to tighten these without using a=20
banding press and a bell ring die set? Frankly, using these things scare =
the
devil=20
out of me!
