Hi Forest et al. (whoever Al is)

What I wrote was an inaccurate transcription of the words right off
Wiseman's website:
"No pressure on any Clarinet keywork."
Frankly I don't see how THAT's possible either. All that velvet and
soft rubber (foam?) would have to be there as an amazing cushion. As I
look at this, yes, it probably is. Forest, you're the judge of this
because you own the cases. The only way I'd be able to afford a Wiseman
case would be to become a highwayman. I'd look funny in a wine-colored
coat and shirt with ruffs.
I assume that if you travel a great deal and stake your career on
valuable instruments arriving in one piece, Wiseman is the investment
you want to make? I've seen first-hand what a crappy case does: I had
to have a soprano sax reassembled from its component parts in November
2000 because the instrument--in the case it came in--threw all its rods
and half its screws while in the back of a moving van. True, this was
not a Mark VI, it was (blush) a combo Taiwanese/American horn (Prestini
USA), the only instrument I ever bought new, and I enjoyed and still
enjoy playing it. Seeing the brass rods flapping was sort of
depressing. Too bad Wiseman doesn't make cases for sopranos (or do they?).
