Dear Gary and dear List !

This was meant to be a privat mail to Ian Holloway because maybe we are
doing sort of same things - but I am not a composer and I apologise for
talking that much about my outbringings - but since mail delivery service
said the mail-adress of Ian from below is unknown I have no other choice to
get his piece.
So dear Gary could you send my mail to Ian - or is he a member of the list ?

Thank you very much an with the best wishes from Vienna to all
Georg Riedl

My mail To Ian Holloway was:

Dear Mister Holloway,

I have read about your piece in a mail of the clarinet list: from Gary Van
Cott on "Clarinet Quartett Music" from 2004-02-10 and I am very interested
in this piece. Why I am so interested?
Well I play quartett with advanced students of mine. I am always looking for
good and also humorous pieces and:
I am trying to do the same thing:
I have written a piece once about "Die Ballade vom lieben Augustin" - 10
versions of the famous Augustin-Lied based on a ballad of Franz Karl Ginzkey
( One version to each of the 10 stanzas of the ballad); I started with an
easy version of the hole thing for 4 Bb-Clar. and piano; the second version
is for woodwind quintett; and now I´m up to arrange it for 5 clarinets an
lets say filler parts for more or less beginners, that means in a way for
clarinet-choir...
I also wrote a piece for woodwindquintett named: "Concerto for
Woodwindquintett solo - by Wolfgang Amadeus R. Mozart" - which is a piece in
3 movements which includes all Mozart windconcertos (and a bit more); and
what I tried was to bring as much as themes and motives as possible
simultanously ! The idea in the very beginning was: the bassoon concerto is
in Bb and the clarinet concerto played on the Bb clarinet as well...
Now you will understand that I just love things like your "Die Kunst der
Klarinette" and I would be very pleased if you helped me to get the music.

With the best wishes

Georg Riedl
