The New York Chamber Symphony, founded by Gerard Schwarz in the late 70s at the 92nd Y as the Y
Chamber Orchestra, later changed its name to the New York Chamber Symphony when it was based at
Alice Tully Hall. If my memory serves me correctly, it has been defunct for two seasons. I have
never heard of a 'New York Chamber Orchestra' but it's certainly possible that one exists. It's
probably not the same group as the NY Chamber Symphony.
