Isn't the main problem with C clarinets is simply that we play them
using mouthpieces designed for larger instruments (Bb and A)? I imagine
most of the intonation problems associated with C clarinets would vanish
if people were willing to use mouthpieces of appropriate design.

I recently had a very amusing conversation with a friend who insisted to
me that the C was simpy "the wrong length for a clarinet". I am still
at a loss as to how he could have come to that opinion.
