If I had a few hundred bucks in my pocket I would have bought the Amati C
that I played at NAMM last week. This is not a critical analysis, to be sure,
but it was a very pretty little instrument, and played well for me. I used my
normal Bb mouthpiece (a Van Doren M30). I assume you have read the archives
here and on the Woodwind.org bulletin board; there are comments that in those
places that agree with what you have said about a lot of improvement in the last
few years.
