>Hi Erik, I just received an Amati C yesterday from WW&BW. Right out of the box I noticed a couple things, the G# adjustment screw appears to have been silver plated onto the key, it won't turn at all. Also, there are wood chips remaining in the sockets of the barrel (attached to the bore), there is no splintering or chipping but the barrel doesn't seem to have been bored cleanly. The wood in the main joints looks pretty good, the exterior shows some open grain, the bore looks good, smooth, polished and no visible grain.

Thanks, I've seen a few comments on the C, but I'm more interested in an A right now. I just bought a C (Buffet E-11; I liked it better than the Noblet 45C or the Patricola CL7, though I tried one E-11 C that I didn't like quite as much as the one I ended up with).

Based on the comments I've seen, right now I'm leaning more toward an E-11 A, since I don't want to spend quite as much as an R13 costs...
