I think I probably missed something, Rebecca. Did you move to another state?
If so they have to have a better music education system than WV. (I can say
that as a former WV music educator, but I continue to hope against hope WV
will one day wake up and see what they've been depriving their children of
in the school music system)

I hope the solo works out whichever way you go with it. The best audition I
had in high school was for All-State my first year. I was so nervous was I
all over the place the first couple of minutes no matter what I tried,
almost to the point of tears. The judge walked over and sat beside me,
calmed me down, and made me breathe deeply and relax. After a couple of
minutes I was fine, ripped through everything. He looked at me after I
finished and said "That's what I knew you could do!" I made third chairthat
first year. I have always tried to emulate his attitude and demeanor in my
teaching, especially with private students.

The judge was Charles Krusenstjerna. He was at WVU at that point in time.
Someone please tell me where he is now if you know...that was 1972, but I
know he taught at Eastman after that. I had several auditions with him at
various times and he always made me feel totally relaxed and assured.

Don
