Henri Tomasi (born Marseilles, 17th August 1901, died Paris, 13th January
1971) entered the Paris Conservatoire at the age of sixteen where he
studied under Georges Caussade, Paul Vidal, Vincent d'Indy and Philippe
Gaubert. In 1927 he was awarded a First Prize for conducting and the Grand
Prix de Rome. He began a joint career as composer and conductor. His many
works show a preference for the theatre and, in the field of instrumental
music, for wind instruments. Among his very many ballets and operas are La
Grisi, Les santons, Feerie laotienne, Miguel Manara, L'Atlantide, Le
triomphe de Jeanne, Le silence de la mer. Among his symphonic works, he
has written concertos for the flute, trumpet, saxophone, viola, horn,
clarinet, trombone, bassoon, and violin.

This is from the back cover of the piano reduction of his clarinet
concerto. Hope it helps.
