Subj: [kl] Buffet Mouthpiece being called a Chedeville??
Date: Tue, 27 Jan 2004 14:48:28 -0500

It is well known that Chedeville DID make mouthpieces which were purchased
& branded by Buffet. Some were faced by Buffet, others not.

At various different times, Buffet was purchasing a significant part of
(Chedeville-Lelandais') Chedeville mouthpiece annual production. Buffet
Clarinets in the late 1950's to 1960's were shipped with these Ched's. EX:
if you find a (stock) 1962 Buffet R13 or Evette Schaeffer (intact as shipped
by Buffet) you'll find the branded "Buffet" Chedeville mouthpiece. (note:
the use of the Chedeville mouthpieces dates to at least 1940-1941 in
catalogues - & probably earlier)

At one time, Bettoney of Boston purchased Chedeville production There
were other clarinet manufacturers as well - ETC.

>> Is that just a ripoff??? Chedeville didn't make Buffet blanks that I am
aware of - any insight to it? Does this person know something or is it just
a big fraud and should be reported to Ebay <<
